Living With Cancer
“It is my sincere hope that you will find strength, support, comfort, and healing as you or a loved one goes through the journey with cancer.”
– Coach Brown
Re-introducing Mr. Billy R Brown, Sr.
Now…many of you may remember Coach Brown. He’s a retired basketball coach and educator, a husband, father, author and minister for God. At the young age of 77, he is still going strong in spite of being diagnosed five months ago with his toughest challenge on the battlefield of life.
It was almost ten years ago when I first interviewed Coach Brown – In fact he was the very first guest on our show in 2007 and now, today, it is my honor and privilege to have him return to the show again because frankly, it’s time do some catching up and have a honest real talk discussion about life and how he’s learning to cope, fight and live with one of the ultimate challengers, cancer.
What keeps him fighting?
What keeps him motivated?
What keeps him strong?
In one of our conversations when Coach Brown was first diagnosed with the disease and told that he had a PSA score of over 2000, he said to me, “This seems like a death sentence and if God don’t help me, I can’t be helped.”
He also asked me to pray and stand in agreement with him and read daily these scriptures while thinking of him, which I have done faithfully.
1st John 5: 14 and 15
(14) Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His Will, He hears us.
(15) And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of him.
This is a story about one man’s journey and self-discovery about the hope, courage and faith required to overcome and live with cancer. It is our sincere desire that this frank and honest discussion will help inspire and uplift your mind, body and spirit to live your best life, right now.
Our topic for today is simply titled, “Living with Cancer”.
So, let’s get started. Please welcome again, Coach Brown.
UPDATE: Since this show was aired, you will be happy to know that Coach Brown’s PSA score continues to drop and has now declined again, from a PSA score of 2000 to 33.7 to 7.8 and now (1/24/2016) his new PSA score is 1.7.
This is A Miracle! Let’s give God the Praise!
